Master Razz: Building the Perfect Low Hand
Smart starting hands and tight discipline win more pots.
LOWEST HAND WINS
Razz Poker is a classic lowball game where the goal is simple—make the lowest 5-card hand to win the pot. No flushes or straights. Just the best low hand takes it all.
Each player gets 7 cards across the hand: two down and one up to start, then more cards one at a time, mostly face up.
Use any 5 of your 7 cards to make the lowest possible hand. Aces are low. Straights and flushes don't count against you.
There are five betting rounds: 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th street. The highest card showing brings it in on 3rd street.
The player with the lowest 5-card hand wins the pot. If tied, the pot is split.
This is the lowest possible 5-card hand in Razz Poker, known as "the wheel."
